PITTSBURGH -- Jim Parsons is an investigative reporter for Team 4 and has been with WTAE-TV Channel 4 Action News since March 1998.

Parsons is a native of Westfield, N.J., and a graduate of the University of Dayton.

WTAE Channel 4 won the Peabody Award, long considered among the most prestigious prizes in electronic media, for his series of Team 4 reports on PHEAA.

Other professional achievements include winning four Emmys and an RTNDA Edward R. Murrow Award for investigative reporting.

Parsons' most embarrassing moment came when he got "the worst haircut of his life" as part of a story he was doing on a barber.

Parsons has two dogs and a cat. He enjoys hiking, golfing and playing basketball.

He lists the "Lord Of The Rings" trilogy as his favorite movies; "Sick Puppy," by Carl Hiaasen, as his favorite book; google.com as his favorite Web site; and the Tarentum Station Restaurant as his favorite local eatery.
